Two Top Five Lists – What a Feeling!

Super Awesome Not Bad At All Video Game (Related) Movies!!

5. Resident Evil/Silent Hill – These share the fifth spot because they were both based on seriously scary games and both films managed to keep enough elements that I didn’t hate them. Resident Evil was good and she is pretty. Silent Hill made me feel creepy and icky so mission accomplished.
4. Mortal Combat – Suck it! This was awesome when I was a kid! They made Sub Zero you bastards, that was awesome.
3. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life – She’s hot, he’s hot, hot hot hot.
2. Ninja Turtles – The new animated film makes me cry and the music is the tits.
1. Ninja Turtles – This is one of my all time favourite comfort movies, I can watch this pretty much any time.

Most Horrible Evil Adaptations Evers…

5.BloodRayne – Not even Kristanna Lokken’s smokin hotness can save this…thing…this…terrible terrible thing…
4. Street Fighter – Van Damme, nuff said.
3. Wing Commander – Never played this game but I sure as hell (wait, I don’t believe in hell) have watched good movies before and this is not a good movie. This is a bad movie.
2. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within – What?! Why is this here it was a beautiful film! Yes, but the story was so damned disappointing to me…I was so let down by this movie for some reason and for that, well, forgiveness is denied.
1. Super Mario Bros. – I can’t…I can’t I can’t…evil evil…but Toad’s not…no no no why why why…The pain!!!

what about double dragon!! also i might have to put tron up there in my top five, simply for the awesome 1982 colours!! Has anyone seen the other final fantasy movie based on FF VII? I loved that game, not sure how the movie turned out.

How odd that mere days after talking about Tron I forgot about Tron. I’ve never seen Tron…but I’ve seen Babylon 5 which had many a Tron player in it therefore I like Tron. So Tron can be…Number 3.

    Lara Croft. You. Are. Cut.

  3. D says:

Yeah, but tron the game was based on tron the movie, not the other way around.

I tried playing tron the game on live arcade the other day and I lasted like 30 seconds. It’s actually crazy how much harder 80s games are. I mean I guess I never bothered to learn the controls properly, but psychologically I was simply not willing to put up with that difficulty. My childhood self would be ashamed of me!

I thought Tron the game came first. wikipedia backs me up on this, but they are mostly crap, so now i am confused. they were both released in 82. and to be fair, TMNT originated from a comic and then the cartoon, not video game then cartoon, then movie.

  5. Nadine says:

Oh my god you are so right…That is true…for some reason I just had the TMNT game stuck in my head. It was one of the first ones I got off Live…It’s just Double Dragon with Turtles instead of dudes…Weird I didn’t even think of the comic!!

Also FF Advent Children is like amazing visually but I dunno about story wise since I am not a FF fan anyway…

I believe you need to rethink your negative review of Street Fighter. Yes, it has Van Damme. And yes, it does, by most critical measures, “suck”. But it also has a scene of Raul Julia flying through the sky on a floating platform that is controlled by the same joystick setup used by real-life Street Fighter arcade games. Now that’s postmodernism at its finest!
