I Wanna Be a Hulkamaniac
Hulk Hogan sings, badly. More good shit here, including Abba in Hindi, KFC training tapes, breathtaking proto-bootleg that combines Mission Impossible with Norwegian Wood, Pat Boone sings Stairway to Heaven, rectal xrays and so goddamned much more. (update: links fixed)
What a wierd message you get when you click on a link. I never would have thought that linking to a non-html file on another server was considered bandwidth theft.
Bizarre.
Really? I don’t get anything like that. Is it still happening?
Yeah, I get:
“The site you just came from is stealing our bandwidth.
It’s against this host’s policies for external websites to directly link to non-HTML files.
We’re sure you’ll like >our siteso bad!
Ah – I see. The mp3s were cached on my machine, so I didn’t get the menacing note – whoa, april!
I’ll have to rejig this post. I can see both sides of this kind of issue: I’ve had teens use my photos as background images on their livejournal pages without credit or copying it onto their server, which is a complete waste of my badnwidth. I’ve thought of doing what April’s doing, but it frustrates a number of legitimate linking methods – what I attempted here is an example. I’m giving credit, and indeed heartily endorsing her site, yet I still can’t get at the files. I guess the problem is even worse since there aren’t even any anchors on the page.
Anway, so I threw a couple of the files onto my server – that’ll have to do the trick.
I’m rather fond of the above typo, and now I wish the following were a word: “badwidth”
